WOW presents the 2nd Annual Mom’s Music Festival on Saturday, April 27th, a day of celebrating Moms. The Women of Waynesville, a fund raising organization, have joined together with Haywood Regional Medical Center Foundation to bring you this wonderful event for the second year.
The WOW organization produced the first ever Mom’s Music Festival in 2012. The event raised $1500.00 for the local K.A.R.E Organization and was a wonderful success for both organizations, as well as another wonderful new festival brought to Haywood County.
This year, the Women of Waynesville will be hosting their 2
nd annual Moms Music Festival, complete with an all day line- up of Southern Rock bands. Smoke Rise, Tarnished Rose, Bohemian Jean, Cherokee Thunder and DJ Ogre of Dizzy Records Entertainment will all be part of the live music playing for the event on April 27th. In addition, there will be loads of local vendors, great food and an entire area dedicated to the kids area.
"Last year was a wonderful experience and we learned a lot about producing a music festival," says Nikki White, President of WOW. "It’s been so fun putting this event into production again and using the knowledge and lessons we learned from last year has made this years’ planning so much more productive and exciting. The Mom’s Music Festival is going to get bigger and better every year and what we have accomplished in just one year is quite amazing," White continues.
The kids area will be complete with a bouncy house, arts and crafts, small petting zoo and the Waynesville Fire Department will be bringing the fire trucks for the children as well.
"We want this event to be family oriented and having an area completely dedicated to kids was on the priority list of this event," shares Katy Higgs, Secretary of WOW. "It’s important that parents come to this event and have a safe fun area their children can play and be entertained while they sit on a blanket and enjoy the Music Festival."
Although this is a celebration of Mom’s, the money raised during this event will go to Haywood County’s local Power of Pink Event, which provides free mammogram screenings for underserved women in Haywood County. Since 2007, the Haywood County Power of Pink Event has provided 800 procedures for more than 500 women, and has raised more than $60,000 for this local cause.
"We are very excited to partner with WOW to raise funds for such a great cause," said Laura Leatherwood, Chairman of HRMC Foundation. "The Power of Pink initiative is a great community outreach, which supports women in Haywood County."
The Mom’s Music Festival will be held on Saturday, April 27
th 2013 behind The Herren House and Bridgets Bistro on East Street in Waynesville, one block from Main Street. Gates will open at 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. There will be local vendors to shop for that perfect Mothers Day gift, Live Music all day, Kids Area, great food, local beer from Haywood County Breweries, raffles, and much more. Make your plans today to come out and enjoy this wonderful event and to help support such an important local cause. 100% of the money raised will stay in Haywood County. This is a CASH ONLY event.
We would like to thank our sponsors for their support. Without you, this event would not happen. Thank you so much to:
